Honestly I have little to no faith in LG. The V30 and G6 launches could have been so much better and the G7 seems to be following the same trend.

All they have to do is give it as the exact same design as the V30.

That’s it.

It’s a shame, I love the v30, was s second away from buying it before reason took ahold of me. LG s track record for the past couple years has been abysmal with bootlooping and then not making good on said bootlooping.

LG,

Perfect Launch

Choose 1.

Got my V30 a couple of days ago for 700€. IP68, milspec toughness, VR readiness, and a 3.5mm audio jack are exactly what I need. Could not be happier. Eagerly awaiting the AR capabilities promised with Oreo.

I abhor selfies and the egomaniacs who take them. I am thrilled to not pay the salaries of a bunch sales people and marketeers, but instead be putting that money into hardware.

Spoiler alert: it will not be perfect.

They’ll announce it soon and then release it in July probably. I seem to recall all of their previous launches being pretty bad. With a issues to actually getting them into stores.

That’s the truest thing I’ve read all day

I am still burned from their bootloop errors and for the author to say he is okay with the weakness of their software is really unacceptable. The specs for this level are all high, if you don’t get the software right the user experience dies.

I have a LG ultrawide monitor, and an LG 4K TV. I had a Nexus 5. I love all of those. I don’t dislike LG products. But looks to me that LG is like Sony or Lenovo or Microsoft or Asus. Tech companies who seems to consider phones to be “just another tech product”. They’re not. Phones exist in their own world, and you have to build & market accordingly. Samsung & Apple have understood this. Google and Huawei are getting there. It’s baffling to me to see companies like LG not get this and fuck up something as simple… Read more »

G2 was great
G3 was ok
G4 was probably falling apart before being shipped out.

If they want to make an impact, they should take over the mantle of the ZTE Axon 7 and build something with stereo front facing speakers and excellent headphone audio output. Include the same excellent cameras from the V30 and they’ll be well on their way. I love how the G6 fits in my hand, because its the closest to being one-handed usable compared to all of the other premium flagships. Unfortunately, LG has two different flagship product lines which are competing with each other, and the G series suffers the most for it.

After bootloops and no more removable battery, LG smartphone division deserves to go under

Announce phone, don’t release or any other info for another 2 months. Typical useless LG.

If we’re being totally honest, LG is just a Samsung-free budget Samsung and it’s more than likely at this point that that’s all they’ll be.

Just bring back the removable battery and LG will have all sorts of fans.

Maybe its because its the only Android phone I’ve ever had and I don’t know what I’m missing, but I really like my LG G6. Not sure why people hate. If anyone could let me know what’s up that’d be awesome 🙂

The V20 is the first and only LG phone I have bought and ever will buy. First phone with Android 7.0, has not received any updates other than security updates. Still sitting on 7.0

I think the OLED TV money is too good to put much effort into phones. No way to catch Samsung

I’d love to see LG (or really anyone) pull a HTC – when they released their M8, it was available *the same day* in stores/online. That was brilliant, and really helped them keep the momentum after launch. LG delayed this release, so technically they did have the time to attempt the same.

Im sure it will be overpriced, available 2 months after reveal, no interesting colors, bad availability, not adverised, and quiet reveal. Like most lg launches of the last 3 years

G6 needed an 835, the v30 needed to come out 2 months sooner. The G7 is entering the market 2 months late…. hmmm

They have been in that situation since the disaster that was the G4 – but every year they screw up. I see no reason that this year will be different.

Provide a headphone jack

Sd slot

Wireless charging

Stereo speakers

Provide updates for 24 months, at least for your
flagships.

Proper QC

Can the LG children provide this?

There is more qc and support from dead Pharoah s than LG.

I can’t, in good conscience, touch anything made by LG after the absolute clusterfuck that was the G4. I expect to see them fade away like HTC over the next few years. If anything, I hope Xiaomi or Nokia take their place in the U.S. market.

Daft LG with their weird way of doing things. LG G6 launched with different config for different market (wireless charging but no hifi DAC in USA, hifi DAC but no wireless charging in Asia).

Then a few months later lauched the G6 plus with more RAM and storage.

Moral of story: wait for G7 plus or V40.

The launch won’t really matter much if the phone is another iPhone X ripoff.LG had a good thing going with the G6.

LG needs to [shut the fuck up with their press releases]comment image), fix what ails their shit e.g. quality assurance, and treat its customers as something more than soulless ATM machines.

real_sadboi

My issue is that they tend to release a phone like 4-5 months after the announcement.

By then, people have already moved on.

coolgui

Haven’t they already screwed it up by calling it “ThinQ”?

Fuck LG I’ve given them two chances and they came up short.

Having had the G Flex, G6 and V30 (twice) I KNOW LG will bungle this. They just don’t seem to be able to get it right
