If you think the best-selling smartphone in the world is iPhone or Oppo, that answer is wrong. Two smartphones made by Samsung, Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus seized the best-selling smartphone throne in the world.
In the research conducted by this Counterpoint firm, Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus have acquisition of market share of 2.6% in April 2018. This figure outperformed its weight competitor, iPhone X and iPhone 8 Plus which is only a slight margin of 2.3%.
Interestingly, cheap smartphones from Xiaomi Redmi 5A is included in the Counterpoint's best-selling smartphone list. Redmi 5A holds a 'cake market' of 1.5%. There is also Redmi 5 Plus which has share of 1.4%.
Entrance Xiaomi into research the 10 best-selling smartphone from Counterpoint is the first. The growth of sales in China and India became the factor of entry of Xiaomi smartphones in this list.
In the results of this research also reveals old iPhone version like iPhone 6 and iPhone 7 is still in great demand. Both these old iPhone have share of 1.4%. It is said Counterpoint, sales of the iPhone 7 is still fairly high in the countries of Asia Pacific and North America.
Although Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus became the best-selling, but still Galaxy S8 there are still many buyers. This 2017 smartphone output has market share of 1.3%. According to Counterpoint, the number of buyers Galaxy S8 is because Samsung provides promo cashback and aggressive marketing.
