If nothing else, I’d say one major advantage this has over the original V30 is that it launches with Oreo, and is thus Treble supported.

Foe Engadget/Verge/BGR anything that isn’t iPhone is somehow not good, there is always a reason. Now, a new iPhone on the other hand…uuhh-aahhh.

engadget just pointlessly hates and bashes everything that LG does. seems like Samsung & Huawei brings engadget loads of bribes

I didn’t want to read every word of this review, but just because it isn’t a redesigned phone doesn’t mean it’s pointless. The article itself acknowledges that it has at least some better hardware elements.

A Treble version of the phone I wanted most in 2017, nice.

Incremental updates to good phones are fine. Just as long as LG isn’t delaying the V40 or G7 to work on this (or killing support for the OG V30 earlier), I don’t see a problem.

I’m way more interested in the V35 to see if they fix any of the problems with the V30.

I’m not liking the direction Samsung hardware is going (amazing screens obscured by glare and edge distortion because of the curved edge gimmick), and stock Android is missing too many useful features (custom nav bar buttons). So LG is looking really good to me at the moment. But if the going to charge the same amount as Samsung (here in Canada) then they need to be that level or offer a lower price to make up for the lack of samsung quality..

From the initial pic, I was like what’s a S8 doing here? Guess I was fooled

Its a shame really. This phone can only sell if it sits under 500$.

Knowing LG they will overprice it though.

Outdated hardware, questionable camera, hows support gonna be, why not buy a S8 (thats cheap now) that will for sure be supported properly.

Theres no reason to buy this phone except for low price.

I hope LG does that. See this as a cheaper flagship now S9 is out.

But knowing lg…

It could be $50 and I wouldn’t buy it
