Inbox works so well for me that email in itself is no longer a primary task/concern for me whatsoever. I just hope Gmail does EVERYTHING Inbox does if this is true.

Then again, Hangouts was supposed to go away so let’s not get all up in arms over this just yet.

I like Inbox, but I was always resentful that Google seemingly partitioned features in Gmail and Inbox in a way that seemed, at first, designed to get people to try Inbox. There’s no reason, for instance, they couldn’t have just integrated Trips into Gmail or snooze notifications, or tasks. They weren’t integral parts designed around Inbox’s different email handling methodology. They just knew that if they added them to Gmail nobody would use Inbox. If they add enough features I may switch back to Gmail. I never use the “done” and “pinned” feature of Inbox which is supposed to be… Read more »

I highly doubt it. People are extremely fussy about email and wouldn’t tolerate radical changes to the gmail app/site they’re used to. Inbox will continue to exist just so Google can test new things without upsetting gmail users.

It’s a shame, because I really did like it. But when I got my X a few months ago and noticed it still wasn’t updated for the new screen, I kinda understood that it was going to be killed off soon. The new Gmail redesign just proves that further.

I’ve found Inbox to be completely useless… maybe it’s due to my shit-ton of filters that I’ve built in Gmail over the years? I dunno

I haven’t used Inbox since the early days it was launched, but my biggest issues were with deleting emails vs archiving emails. I delete way more emails than I want to keep and in the Inbox UI it made it so you had to click into the email before and then delete it vs gmail where you can set the swipe to delete by default. Also how it grouped emails were troublesome for me. I’d lose track of more emails because they be lost in some weird grouping. Theres some features that I would have liked from Inbox but I… Read more »

Shit they better not do this. I can block Android P, I can theme Google Play apps, but I can’t change my email address at this point…

How is this site still running. Every article I’ve read on here is complete trash.

And exchange it for a brand new messaging app

I would help if it actually worked in the first place.

Reminder appears, reminder is snoozed until ‘this evening’, reminder never appears again.

Inbox never made sense to me. I never would consider organizing my email the way they were doing it.

Maybe I used Inbox wrong but it seemed like you had to go ALL IN or it was useless. Like if you archived something in Inbox it wasn’t archived in Gmail.

Edit: Tried it again and works fine.

Always nice to see I wasn’t crazy when I wrote my [Moving Away from Google](https://medium.com/@gabrielsimmer/moving-away-from-google-d2f384c83b1e) article, and my ideas being supported.

Uh, OK. Some evidence other than “we imagine” and “no updates since August 2016” ([WRONG](https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/inbox/)) would be nice. And

> Its possible Google will never fully “sunset” Inbox

seems to really say “Our headline was BS”. But whatever.

I sure hope not. Aside from its enormously useful features (e.g., automatically bundling all emails about a trip together), Inbox has a far more modern design and is much easier to use than Gmail (even Gmail’s new redesign still isn’t as slick, modern, and material design as Inbox).

I really dislike using Gmail’s web interface but find Inbox to be a pleasure to interact with.

Almost all of Google’s apps were updated for iPhone X but not inbox. They are either waiting for a full revamp or to discontinue it altogether. Atleast on iOS.

Inbox is perfect for people who vant manage email.

For people who had categories, folders and important tags just used Gmail.

Hope they dont screw my folders which I have taken years to build.

They love making stupid decisions when it comes to people communicating with each other. So they probably will!

I hope they don’t. I love Inbox. It’s my main on mobile and desktop. I like it’s simplicity and UI across both platforms

I only use it on desktop to find my flight emails. It’s really useful for that (I just use the Google Trips app if it’s on the phone).

I had the app for a bit but it was “material design overload” for me. I wanna skip through emails quickly, but I didn’t wanna keep sitting through animations. Gmail lets me just swipe through them.

Good, I was an early adopter of inbox and struggled mightily to like it.

Gmail is just a better way to go and I couldn’t justify using a substandard app from the same company as the app I preferred.

I guess inbox was an attempt to test new features, I just couldn’t get behind it.
