After confirmed its presence HMD Global officially announced its Android smartphone, Nokia 8 received an update augmented reality (AR) via ARCore.
ARCore support was given after Google added a number of new smartphones in the latest ARCore version where one of them was Nokia 8. To enjoy various AR content, users simply download the ARCore application on the Google Play Store or click this page
After downloading ARCore, you can use various applications that use ARCore support such as Measure to measure various objects with a smartphone, Motion Stickers for me shoot or take videos with various AR effects, or AR-based games.
Previously there were Nokia 8 Sirocco, Nokia 7 Plus, and Nokia 6.1 that have supported ARCore.
Nokia 8 was released in August 2017. Nokia 8 is equipped with a 5.3 inch screen with 2K resolution, Snapdragon 835 processor, 4GB RAM, 64GB memory, and microSD slot support.
The rear camera itself has dual cameras with 13MP resolution, with Zeiss lenses. The same resolution is also available on the front camera.
ARCore is an advanced development of Google Tango that failed because it requires special hardware and lack of available devices. Unlike Google Tanggo, in Google's ARCore it requires special hardware to run Augmented Reality.
